Romeo Uriarte is a managing partner at Uriarte & Carr LLP. He attended Rutgers University and received a Bachelors of Art in Economics in 1987. Thereafter, Mr. Uriarte attended the University of San Francisco School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor degree. He was admitted to practice law in California in 1995 and has been a continuing member of the State Bar of California since that time. He is a California Bar Certified Specialist in Workers Compensation.

Mr. Uriarte has been representing clients who have California workers compensation cases including Federal Longshore cases since 1992 when he was in law school working as an intern. After graduating law school he worked at Mayen & Green as an attorney and thereafter at Russo & Cassetta. In 1999 he became a partner at Russo, Uriarte & Carr LLP. In 2001 there was a substantial change in partnership and staff and the new firm of Uriarte & Carr LLP was founded by Mr. Uriarte and Sarah Carr. The firm currently has 4 attorneys with additional legal support staff.

He is an active member of CAAA which is the largest organization of attorneys in California that represents clients with Workers Compensation cases and has been a member since 1995. He continues to attend educational seminars throughout the year which are sponsored by CAAA. Mr. Uriarte is also a Judge Pro Tem at the Oakland Workers Compensation Appeals Board.

Mr. Uriarte has extensive experience in workers compensation law and represents clients from all walks of life and from many various vocations. He has represented clients in thousands of depositions to hundred of trials up through appeals and to the Supreme Court of California. He has been published in several cases as well as in the case of, Berman v. Kaiser which helped define Labor Code Sec. 3208.3 as well as the Becerra case in Federal Longshore.
